After an extensive pastor search, The Edge Christian Fellowship is announcing Kurt Gelman as the new lead teaching pastor after the board of elders unanimously voted him into the position. Kurt plans to take over the pulpit at the end of January.
“We’re looking forward to joining The Edge family,” said Kurt. “I believe God has some great plans and great things in store for The Edge.”
Kurt is originally an east coaster who grew up just outside of New York City. Before coming to The Edge he worked as the lead pastor at the First Baptist Church of Newman since 2013 and also served as a youth pastor and associate pastor of family ministry at the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City. Kurt completed has a bachelor of science in youth ministry from Huntington University and is near completion of a masters of theology at Midwestern theological seminary.
“We are very excited to welcome Kurt as the new lead teaching pastor of our church,” said Don Horstman, church elder. “God has led Kurt to us in a way that can only be described as His divine work. We couldn’t feel more blessed to have such a humble and experienced leader for our staff and church body.”
Kurt is married to his wonderful wife Lea and they have five children, Elise, Isaiah, Ari, Zion and Davin. Kurt is passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing the kingdom of God move forward in the world and within individuals. Outside of the church, Kurt can be found playing with his kids, reading, watching movies and traveling.
